Spyglass LLC is a progressive Madison, Wisconsin based IT consulting firm focused on providing an alternative approach to traditional technology consulting.  We are interested in working with IT departments that require quality consulting and are looking for an outsourcing relationship that is more cost-effective than a traditional staff supplementation model.

 

The Problem: Traditional Consulting

 

Many consulting firms prefer to place consultants at customer sites as full-time employees for as long as possible.  For the consulting firm, this is a great deal.  The consultant will continue to generate revenue without additional sales effort. Unfortunately, for the customer, this is not always an ideal situation. 

 

Internal IT personnel are frequently busy and cannot always spend time working with a consultant.  The consultant, then, will inevitably face periods of "downtime" where internal personnel input is required for further action to be taken.  Downtime of this type is common in any work environment, however, the primary problem with consultant downtime is that the customer pays a premium for the consultant to sit and wait.  At Spyglass, we firmly believe that a customer should not have to pay for a consultant when the consultant is not working.

 

Our Solution: The Spyglass Approach

 

Our approach is specifically designed to lower consulting costs by creating an outsourcing relationship in which our customers are not paying for consultant downtime.  We understand that many IT departments require outside assistance, but we also understand that outside assistance may not be needed eight hours a day every day of the week.  So, instead of pushing our customers to hire our consultants full-time, we offer a variety of flexible options including subscription services and part-time project assistance.
